The CHD (Clinique Hygiène Dentaire, or “Dental Hygiene Clinic) is the first dental clinic in Switzerland specialised in dental hygiene and prevention.
Our first clinic opened in 2016 in Geneva, focusing on patient’s well-being and comfort, while working hard to promote dental hygiene and prevention: Instead of having patients coming to see a dentist (once the pathology has come…), our goal is to motivate people to book an appointment from one day to another with a hygienist in order to create the best conditions so that they would avoid issues with their mouth. Even though you wouldn’t believe it, Swiss people weren’t used to this ! Also, the number of hygienists working in our clinics is huge compared with the number of dentists.
A second clinic opened in 2018 in Lausanne, then a third one followed in 2010 located in Geneva as well, and we have just opened our fourth in Yverdon-les-Bains a few months ago.
We could have gone faster, but we have to keep control in all the processes, being dentists and dental assistants ourself ! Also, the idea is to make sure that we create a warm, welcoming, and lovely environment, so that people will “want” to come to their hygienist, instead of “having to” come.
-All our hygienist need from 60 to 90 minutes (30 to 45 minutes longer than other dental clinics and offices) appointments so that they can provide the best treatments possible, make a full check-up, and give their patient a “dental Hygiene & prevention Diagnosis”.
-Treatment-wise, the same concept applies: we do not accept quick treatments, and for instance will require from our practitioners:
-45min appointments for a filling
-45min appointments for check-up
Just to give you an idea, we demand x-rays, photos, and a discussion with the patients, so that they get a clear understanding or their current dental and buccal state.
